Thanks for support for the new blog and apologies for the frustrations it must have caused you!!
I am looking for info:
Details of the Land Forces of Venice in the mid 18th century- uniforms and regtnumbers/titles.
Ideas for model ships to depict Venetian vessels in 1/1200 scale.
Naval rules for the period- I am ok with Napoleonics but not with 1750's rules which would cover these sorts of vessels.
Uniforms of Venetian sailors/naval officers.
Thanks to those who have offered ideas and support so far...
cheers
Alan

Beyond the site I gave you, there isn't all the info out in english. Take a look at On Military Matters if they have maybe a book. http://onmilitarymatters.com/pages/
Also look at general books on Italian history. I know that the arsenal was producing good ships, in the 1790s. And they had a galley fleet in the period. I will also take a look on my Thompson book on strategic rivalries as it has info on Venice and the Ottomans.
Take a look also here
http://3decks.pbwiki.com/Venice
From the above site, it seems that Venice in the 1740s had 9 1st rates ships of the line, 3 2nd rates, no 3rd rates, 3 large frigate,
In the 1750s it had 5 1st rate ships of the line, no 2nd rates, no 3rd rates,9 large frigates.
Add to these 15-20 galleys, 8 gunboats, 7 galiots, 3 brigs, 7 xebeks and other smaller ships.
A formidable force for the Adriatic theater.

For a set of naval rules try 'Letters of Marque and Reprisal'. They are designed for this time period, are quite fun and are available as a free download. I don't have the link for them, but I believe they are listed on www.freewargamesrules.co.uk if not you could Google the name.
Cheers
Steve
