New Map
Our map made no sense to me, so I created a relational map. The great thing about these is that anything can be done inside the establish border of the bubble and any connections can be made outside bubble to bubble. For instance we know that the Grand Duchy of Stollen has many fictional neighbors; in this system they all exist inside the bubble labelled Stollen. My own Vulgaria has borders with Alzheim, Russia, Austro Hungary the Ottoman Empire and Prussian concern, clearly this is impossible on a normal map; however, on a relational map it is entirely possible. The red countries are actual countries or those with long standing feuds that we are tying ourselves to. The blue boxes are seas and oceans and finally the little green boxes represent we the petty tyrannts of this land. Let me know if this makes more sense and I'll try to develop a better/clearer picture.

This is probably a better method, as it will allow for endless combinations.
I agree, I'd love to see what all you'll do with this on the full breakout. On my screen, the text is kind of difficult to read, but I figure it was just a quick mockup anyway. If you can do it without totally running out of space or making the text illegible, might I suggest also on this one that the country names include Principality, Duchy, etc?
I think this type of map makes a lot more sense and doesn't squeeze out actual countries ans territiores. Nice work!

I think this is a better route ...
but,
Alas, first of all, for some reason my confuser kind of blurs the text, but I can usually figure out which country it is ... this is much like the sort of "matrix" mapping I wound up using in my Iron Age wargaming, it produces more collisions of figures and eliminates the map board gaming that can detract from the purpose!
Also, while I don't think they're on board yet, there is a Bishopric of Fulda player involved in the Gallian Hesse Seewald collision. That would be between Frankszonia and Hesse Seewald and below Hesse-Englebert.
Perhaps yellow for involved states that haven't started posting to the blog yet?

I agree that this is a good idea . . . but my old eyes cannot read the names even when I look at the larger version when I click on it.
Please do the next version with LARGE PRINT for those of us who are well on in years.

Arthur mentions yellow for involved states that are not yet bloggers. It might be worth while for us to set up some sort of color scheme to indicate either alliances or which player is responsible for each set of countries, since we have a half dozen or more countries under some players.
Will you be drawing connecting lines or something to indicate states with a common border?
Is ther a way of handling a situation such as the Bad Nachtschwein League, which presently exists as a league of city states independent of Ober-Schweinsberg yet physically located completely inside it? It could be as simple as noting both names inside its bubble, but someone else may have a more clever idea.
This was a quick first cut so it doesn't have the best font or color scheme-I am glad to rework it, with any suggestions. I will need some help gathering all of the specific data. It's possible that I could even lay the bubbles overtop of a map of Europe. We can put in connections if the we desire although there will be some connections that require a little faith as oppossed to being real. Regardless I'm glad to work on it.
I'm sure Alzheim must also have a small territory in Alsace or Lorraine, where else would all her Frenchified uniforms come from?

Perhaps Alzheims Italian holdings are near the French border? The love of wine and hedonistic pleasures would seem to suggest the Med.
