News has reached Auld reekie of another dastardly and vile invasion by the French and their highland cohorts. An eye witness, the Reverend Mac Farlane , who galloped overnight from the North of Scotland, saw with his own good eye ( his other was put out by jacobites in '45) the hordes gathering and marching south.
