No plan survives encounter with the enemy ...

As the Stagonian staff begin to mount up, a messenger dashes up from the artillery park.
"My Lords!" he gasps, "there's some sort of disease among the artillery horses! Some are down, and others do not have the strength to pull their pieces!"
Alarmed, they rush towards the guns until a medical officer halts them. "Don't bring those animals any closer," he commands, "until we know what's wrong!"

(Out of character: Edie developed pneumonia symptoms last night. I could play the game without her --- which would be a great gain for Stagonia ... but she might not be able to take pictures, so there may be an unavoidable delay ... I'll use the time to paint up 48 more Austrian fusiliers for Stagonia -- white coats after all -- update tonight, the game is half packed to go right now,
apologies for another delay, Arthur).

Obviously Edie's health is more important . . . and her participation and photos will be worth the wait.

Let the vile Stagonians worry for a bit . . . and hope that Edie feels better soon.

We can wait.

Exactly as Jeff says, Arthur. (I sent you an email too.)

Nothing to apologize for, Arthur. Give Edie our best wishes, and I'll be praying for her.

Let no one claim that the "good guys" of the Stagonian army are anything but gallant.

We certainly will not proceed until the charming Lady Edie is back on her feet and feeling well.

Instead we will await our newly laundered uniforms and plan more confusion for our enemies.

We await the recovery of Lady Edie.

They say they're waiting for Lady Edie gallantly, but we really know it's just that the supply wagons got slowed down by a large herd of sheep moving down the road. Stagonians (like other non-vile soldiers) don't want to fight on an empty stomach, so they're waiting for the bread ration to catch up to them. ;)

Yes, you always know when a Stagonian says something "gallant" that it's a downright lie and cover for some chicanery or other. ;-)

The real LIVE world matters far more!

Delay as long as needed.

Agreed.
Best wishes to Lady Edie for a quick recovery!

Thank you all for the kind wishes ... given the kind of crowd we seem to be, they were sort of expected! Is it just me, or are folks who enjoy imagi-nations simply easier to get along with?

Update:
She is responding to meds, but everything for actual gaming will have to be on hold until after Thanksgiving ...
Also, the doctor kindly wrote large amounts for her prescriptions as he thinks her condition is infectious, so that means in a week or two, your correspondent will probably be rather uncomfortable.
Meanwhile, the little side plots will continue.
However, the delay means that a plausible situation will arise permitting the battle to occur in the flats below Tipple Bruder, instead of up in the forest hills ... again, an advantage to Stagonia ...
No, I'm not "favoring" Stagonia ... but the odds are there, and I love setting up such unpredictables.

One side effect, I'd thought of an adaptation to the deployment phase of K.K. which would have meant that even the controlling player would not be sure until the last moment who was really where ... now, alas, it will not be used ...

:)

This group does indeed seem to attract good folks. And I think the time to carry on the plot in the comments section on the Allied Headquarters post is useful anyway. :)

A swift and complete recovery to Lady Edie, God grant! Rest, good lady and recover your health.

I wonder, would Stagonia be vile enough to poison its own horses?
Or just vile enough to be too cheap to check its supplies?
