Diplomatic Status

I thought, with things finally heating up, that it would be worthwhile for us to start a thread into which to post the diplomatic sentiments of our various principalities towards the various other powers.

Feel free to add comments, and remember your secondary nations!

The Electorate of Zichenau -- No formal treaties, but friendly and open to ANY nation that is against the Grand Duchy of Stollen!

the duchy of clove-hamhock received two offers of alliance and has responded favorably to both. however, at this time the countries making the offers have not replied to our response and no formal treaties are in place at this time.

The Soweiter League - open to friendly relations with non-aggressive nations. ALthough, due to the nature of the form of government formal treaties of assitance are difficult to enact. Our policy is to avoid foreign entanglements. Meanwhile we need what forces we can muster to protect ourselves from foreign aggressors.
Has had friendly contacts with Tradgardland and Tippelbruder, among others.
Batrachia - "observing" the Soweiter League (this is likely to turn into an attempt to annex at least some of the League's territory, which the Batrachian Empire claims). Also likely to be disposed to be friendlt towards other Gallic nations.
Bossanova - ready to make trouble wherever it can, but prefers underhanded means and avoids open conflict and military involvement at this stage.

We might remind the Soweiter League that when Frankszonia attacked it, we the noble rulers of the Kingdom of Stagonia sent an army which protected the city of Offenbach from annexation by those bad sausages.

And what did we ask in return for our aid? Why nothing. We did it because it was the right thing to do.

We of Stagonia are the victims of a cruel campaign by those dastardly Saxe-Bearsteiners, who bear us such ill will simply because we brew a better beer than they do.

The Duchy of Mieczyslaw
-----------------------

A general state of war between The Duchy of Mieczyslaw and Norden Duchy actions in battles of St. Argard, Debnića, and Barva.

Burtzenia has also been identified as an aggressor state as late last year the battle of Grozhof showed that the Burtzenians have torn off the masque of 'peace'...

Other relations of The Duchy of Mieczyslaw have not changed since first reported here.

Monte-Cristo is neutral (being off the way of any road helps a lot) and warmly friend to anyone. And feverishly hopes to be spared by the eruption of violence threatening the Whole Holy Oestrichian Roman Empire.

Pfalz-Kognat-Obersayn:

Waldreck=War

Sachsen-Veldenz=Mutual defence alliance against Waldreck

Pfalz-Zweibacken=Treaty of Nonaggression and Mutual Assistance

Tradgardland=Positive Relations; Scientific and Cultural Exchanges.

Imperium=Questionable; the Imperium only occasionally acknowledges the existence of Pfalz-Kognat-Obersayn, leading the Duke's Geheimrat to conclude that agents of hostile powers are actively working against the continued existence of the duchy.

Hesse-Fedora=Guarded. The manoeuvres of Hesse-Homburg and Hesse-Fedora along the south bank of the Nahe are uncomfortably close to Pfalz-Kognat-Obersayn's southern frontier.

Duchy of M'Uedail=Guarded. The military buildup of M'Uedail is cause for profound concern within the Geheimrat.

Principality of Jordvicken=Uncertain. Early negotiations for mercenary support from Jordvicken at the outbreak of the current war with Waldreck broke down over unspecified issues in the proposed contract.

Stagonia=Guarded. The possibility of Stagonian involvement in the recent Hunsruck Riots has not been excluded by the Geheimrat.

Saxe-Huack=Uncertain. The elimination of the Bittburg League has caused the Geheimrat concern that Gallian forces might be pulled into the area by the power vacuum consequent to the League's dissolution.

To Koenig Maurice of Stagonia,
The Soweiter League is currently reviewing its stance with regards to Stagonia. Although there was a rocky start concerning a wild boar and outlandish claims that said boar was in reality a prince of your land the recent actions during the defence of Offenbach seem to be mitigating circumstances, as it were. On the other hand, Stagonia was unquestionably involved in an unprovoked attack on Tippelbruder, which one of our members, Saxe-Urquhart was pleased to play a small role in turning back.
At this time we are convening a committee to investigate the possibility of redefining the League's relationship with Stagonia. Much hinges on the future actions of Frankzonia as well as the kingdom of Stagonia.
The League wishes to live in peace and conduct trade and cultural exchanges with all of its fellow Uropean nations.

Frankszonia, of course, being occupied by Gallia is collaborating as officiously as it can ... and of course trying to take normal advantage of the situation. Since Frankszonia is basically a trade oriented state, we're trying to avoid any messy complications with a lot of folks, but recent developments in Hesse-Homburg, which is literally right on our doorstep are alarming.

Secondarily, the recent action at Offenbach, one should note, wqs entirely between the Vile Stagonians and Frankszonia ... Frankszonia is necessarily committed to eliminating the vile influence of Stagonia from its close neighbors, and Offenbach is actually now just across the river from some of our villages as well as less than 20 kilometers from Frankfurt. Indeed, the FRankszonian actions were initially prompted by the vile )stuck for a word, the message that says do this or fight) sent to Tipplebruder threatening the Soweiter league.

Frankszonia has been from the start actively supporting the alliance which supports the Soweiter League.

Now, for Clove Hammhock, I'm hoping that we're one of those potential allies, exchange of personel however has been delayed by bad weather, local crises, and the severe illness of the Hurtshog.

Stagger the Stagonians!
Obviously, they're involved in the cheezy plotting of Roquefort!

I think Ultimatum is the word you're looking for, my dear Frankzonian colleague.

Wittenberg has no formal treaties with other states, it is a peaceful country and in general has friendly relations with all its immediate neighbours and some distant countries; except for Monrovia to the east where things can at times become rather 'frosty' and on unfortunate occasions escalate to all out war.

Monrovia is currently looking to try and get back the area of Upper Belgravia from Wittenberg and has treaties with Saxe-Jarlsberg and Hesse-Limberger. It is making overtures to Fenwick and is putting feelers out to Stagonia and other states to the north of Wittenberg.

Let's not forget Vulgaria -hopefully Poruchick will come back- aligned with 'the two Empresses' , that of Russia first.

I'm under the impression that Zichenau is not dissimilar to Waldreck and Stagonia? Well, at least according to a Grand-Duke who, it's true, mistakes a lobster costume for a 3/4 'lobster' cermonial armour...
