Battle of Unter-Schweingau

First report is that Asgar's forces succeeded in extricating the Council from the trap that Arnold set -- earning a tactical victory although suffering significantly more casualties.

However the ultimate outcome of the battle remains to be seen . . . it may well turn out to have been a strategic coup for Arnold.

More details to follow in due course. Be sure to check the Landgraviate of Ober-Schweinsberg News as well as the Murdock's Marauders Report and the Saxe-Bearstein Times over the next few days for more detailed accounts and analysis of the battle.

I just want to say thank you again for doing this. I quite enjoyed the planning running up to it, and it provides an interesting sensation of being the Prince waiting for reports from the battleground.

Did I see some Napoleonic Grenadiers a Cheval in that picture? Nice looking battle.

Probably so. There are a few Napoleonics scattered about to make up numbers. I love how the flags came out. I can identify at least three battalions by flag in that shot.

I gave Murdock a total of 17 infantry battalions and 25 cavalry squadrons to account for in his figures.

Yes, Murdock did have to use some Nappies in filling out the OBs. I'm sure that he will be willing to expand on this over the next few days.

Duh,

I should learn not to type posts when I'm half-asleep.

I have now corrected the link to the proper blog for reports on the battle.

Sorry, Jonathan. I've fixed it now; so when you post your story, people will actually go to the proper blog.

Great pic! Looking forward to more pics and reports.

Murdock's camera is much better than mine (and he took more close-ups too).

His report should appear sometime over the next few days . . . I'd say to keep checking his blog.

Jonathan (for whom we fought this proxy battle) should have comments on his blog soon too.

Yes Der Alte Fritz, they were Napoleonic Big Boots filling in as Horse Grenadiers for Snickering Corpses troops.

Yes the flags helped to sort out whom was on which side...I also 'made up' a provisional Militia flag, that I will send to Jonathan after a day or so, as I have tons of other things to get done around here before I can settle in to review the pics.

Fret not though I will post a 'heads up' here at EvE.

Jonathan, I should like to know what the fate of the Irish Guard will be though?

Just so that I can 'flesh out' the end of this tale...

Murdock,

You should have that info in an email. I replied to the one Jeff sent out, you should have a copy but I think it's to your other email address. Let me know if you don't have it.

Yes Jonathan I got it, I just misread the section about the Irish.

Will 'hopefully' have something posted about it all by tomorrow night.

Unhappy children here right now making concentration impossible.
