...wot I wrote last year for Compost, the South London Warlords in-house magazine, is over here on 4-Share. You have to download the .pdf, so click on Download (left hand side blue button on page, the other one takes you to the Buy Our Software stuff)) then "Download Now" just above the timer on the next page (wait for the timer to finish - yes, its a cr*ppy system, will excoriate Editor accordingly....).
Article starts on Page 21.
Anyway, the Powers That Be have decided to possibly publish a version of it in the Salute magazine for 2011 (Salute being the biggest wargames show in the UK) with some more pix of people's Imagi-Armies in action (inaction?) - accredited to said blogs of course - in it. I thought it was best if I looked for pix that worked and asking if those blog authors were OK with using them.
I hope the article captures the flavour.... suggest changes/other stuff and I can think about adding it in (the despotic author's decision is final....)

No, that's the wrong button, takes you to the software. Hit the blue "download" button on the left and then the one above the counter
(It's a cr*p site, I agree - Slideshare or seomesuch would be better - will harangue Editor)
Interesting article, sir. But a couple of things to consider . . .
Instead of 76 authors, we currently have 87 member authors (and I have no idea as to how many separate Imagi-Nations).
We, in EvE are not concerned with figure scale. I know that we have members whose armies range (at least) from 6mm to 40mm. Yes, 25-28mm are probably the most popular, but 15mm and 1/72 plastic are not far behind.
You did not mention "proxy battles", which are great fun. Two Imagi-Nations (often far apart in the real world) have a "third party" fight out a battle between them. They will each convey the details of their plans and forces to the "third party" who will then fight the actual battle (often using rules and a figure scale different from what the two belligerents use). We have had some great "proxy battles" set up via EvE. One (Battle of Tippelbruder) involved forces from over a half-dozen Imagi-Nations.

Yes, that was written 6 months ago, I will make quite a few edits like that.
I like the article. Condensed as it is forced to be, I believe it nevertheless manages to express the flavour, general motivations and particular way-of-life ('way-of-play' I'd rather say) of 18th Century Imagi-Nationeers. Good job, in my humble opinion.
