Stonew saved

The latest dispatch from the Frundsberg town of Stonew is that the French invasion force has been replused with much loss of life on the French side. The despatch rider reported that some dandyfied officer had attempted to stop him but to no avail, he was quoted as saying "the mail must get through"

Looks like someone's raft took a direct hit from the artillery in that bastion. Wonder if they could swim? Probably not.

Sacred Blue! Those are heroes of the Revolution! Of course they can swim, it has been decreed by the Central Committee! Of course, as washing and bathing is a counterrevolutionary act, they will doubtless all get shot/reeducated if when they arrive on the riverbank.

Ye gods! You mean someone ordered those poor schmucks to land BETWEEN those gun emplacements (bastions)? Oh, hang on, they drifted there didn't they. Quel horreur. The General Officer in command wasn't any ralative of Marshal Augereau, was he...?

I suppose the Nobles will quietly roll up their liberty caps and put them in their pockets...just in case.
