What has happened to Northern Wars...

Does anyone know what has happened to Dan Schorr's fantastic Northern Wars website? I went there and was told it no longer existed...

I don't know. Dan has occasionally said he was going to discontinue it (although many have pleaded with him to keep the information available) . . . and a few times the server has been down.

I tried checking on TMP to see if there was anything about it . . . but the Membership system is down for servicing right now.

It has been a while since I've personally been there, but I hope it is a temporary situation because Dan has a wealth of good information there.

Now that TMP is back up, I found the following thread:

It disappeared in January of 2009 . . . and returned. But the comments from this past weekend suggest that it might not return.

I just found this on TMP. It sounds like Schorr's site is gone for good.

Gentlemen;

Recently exchanged e-mails with Dan, the site is gone. I offered to chair a drive to help financially, but Dan indicated that expense was only one of many considerations that went into his decision, and that deferring the expense would not change his decision. He did indicate that he would still be "lurking about" on his usual forums and would always at least try to answer e-mails and provide specific help when requested.

We will all lament the "passing" of this great site, but let us all Thank Dan for the time that we had it available, support his commercial endeavors where possible, and respect his decision.

Is there any hope that Google has already cached the site?
