Announcement from the Kammerer-Amt
ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE ENGAGEMENT OF Prinzessin Sophie-Vittoria
10 November 1758
The Herzog and Herzogin von Pfalz-Kognat-Obersayn are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Sophie-Vittoria to Friedrich, Pfalzgraf von Waldreck.
If young Sophie-Vittoria enjoys a personality akin to that of Sophie-Frederique-Augusta von Holstein-Gottorp, her misfortune (and Friedrich's survival) will be short... Louys
Should the need arise, The Frundsberg Frei Stadt can arrange discrete divorces arranged by the appropriate religeous authorities. (For a suitable fee/demonstration of penetence, etc.)
Alternatively, Monte-Cristo can provide Prinzessin Sophie-Vittoria with an escort of skilled bridesmaids (or Holy Sisters of the Order of St Jezebel). How the young widow would express her gratitude could be discussed later. Louys (always honoured to do an Aphrodite’s Child a small service)
Typical arranged political marriage, a beautiful young women and an old ugly man.
ReplyDeleteMaybe she will refuse the arrangement and run off to the New World.

... or to Monte-Cristo?

or to Ny Tradgardland - where she would indeed be welcomed...

or possibly to Beerstein, where the Reich Duke's son is about to graduate from the University of Pabst....
ReplyDeleteOr even to Hesse-Engelburg, which is rumored to have a young son and heir as yet unmarried.
ReplyDeleteBut first, of course, we must learn whether the Prinzessin Sophie-Vittoria is pleased with the announcement.
I bet that she cried when she saw his picture for the first time.
ReplyDeletePerhaps her family is following the Habsburg's example. The first marriage is for duty. The second one is for love.
