He has quite a number of them such as the infamous Col. Bauer of the vexing Black Hussars, Milady de Winter of course who remains an enigma and we think dangerous, several politicians and lesser nobles of some Germanian petty states, Hesse-Seewald characters and so forth.

Anyhow, aside from the two Austrian (Imperium) fellows and Granby whom Der Alte created, the listed people here are the ones I came up with in The Seven Years' War Charge Project of twenty some years ago and then more rencetly within the past two years. Thus Der Alte has a similar cast of characters but they are not in a list. You can find them and read all about them over at OSW if you go to FILES there. Find the three folders entitled War of the Saxon Duchies. You will need several hours to read it all.

I find it interesting how each character, that is, the ones who have become active - have a special personality. I suppose I am somewhat influenced by Tony Bath's system of thirty plus years ago of how to generate characters which we see in a revived and new format in the last issue of Battlegames. However, I am too reticent to construct characteristics according to dice throwing. What if my favorites like de Broglie and Chevert turned out to be terrible? Ach! C'est mal! Yet, perhaps lesser characters might be created in this fashion and I could let the dice fall where they may.

Votre Obt.
